A few years ago, a Hollywood agent would go to great lengths to hide their clients' plastic surgeries. They might call the disappearance from the public eye a sabbatical or a retreat.

Fortunately, that is no longer necessary. Today's celebs are far more likely to share their post-op pictures on Instagram than they are to try to hide things.

Ironically, this helps them appear more real in the eyes of their fans. They're human beings with insecurities that they want to change, just like the rest of us.

Here are 5 celebrities that had no qualms about going public with their plastic surgeries.

    1. Cardi B – Butt Implants and Breast Implants

It's hard to imagine anyone more ferociously honest than hip hop queen Cardi B. So, it's not surprising how candid she has been when asked about her plastic surgeries over the years.

She has been very open about the fact that she has had both breast and butt implants. Cardi added that after her procedures she felt, "super confident. I feel so vindicated."

    2. Mickey Rourke – Rhytidectomy and a Rhinoplasty

If you're not connected to the world of plastic surgery, you might say, "Ok I know a rhinoplasty is a nose job, but what is a rhytidectomy exactly?" It's basically just the medical name for a facelift. And leading man Mickey Rourke has been very open about his facelift and his nose job.

In 2017, he shared a picture of himself in the hospital bed after the surgery, announcing, "Now I am pretty again." His nose had taken a literal beating over the years, as the actor also spent a few years as a professional boxer. He later had a facelift to shave a few years off of his appearance.

    3. Jillian Michaels – Rhinoplasty

Long before she was the butt-kicking fitness queen, Michaels was just another shy teen.

In fact, she says that she was bullied relentlessly about her nose until she got a nose job when she was 16-years-old.

To this day, she still stands by her decision, despite the relatively young age she had the procedure. She said that it changed her life for the better and she felt more confident afterwards.

    4. George Clooney -- Blepharoplasty

Despite being inhumanly famous, there is something so endearingly authentic about George Clooney.

You could argue that he was well ahead of the current trend of transparency and honesty about plastic surgery. In a sit-down interview with Julia Roberts (just two regular people having a regular chat) in 2007, he casually said that he had his eyes done.

Blepharoplasty is a very popular option among aging men that are starting to see their brows and eyelids sagging, which often gives them a fatigued look.

    5. Jennifer Anniston – Rhinoplasty

Not everyone that gets plastic surgery does so for cosmetic reasons.

For example, a rhinoplasty procedure can also be used to help a patient that has trouble sleeping because of nasal issues. That's exactly why Anniston got her procedure, and she said that she slept like a baby for the first time in years.

If a celebrity got plastic surgery in 2001, or even 2011, the headlines that ensued may have included the word fake. But in 2021, there is something very real about getting plastic surgery. The celeb now seems like a real person, with real insecurities. Just like the rest of us.
