Each of us loves New Year and Christmas, watching old and new atmospheric films and eating tangerines. Everyone spends the new year in their own way, someone decorates the house, someone plays board games, someone plays at the PlayAmo, but we all like to watch movies. That is why we have prepared for you a list of the most New Year's movies.
Jack Frost (1998)
Country: USA
Genre: Fantasy, Family, Comedy
IMDb: 5.40
A magnificent, but slightly sad family fairy tale, starring Michael Keaton. The film is perfect for both adults and children. (The plot is quite simple: Keaton's character (Jack Frost) spends little time with his son because he is constantly working. One day Jack leaves for work again and accidentally dies in an accident and his soul moves into the snowman that his son made. And they start having fun together.
The Santa Clause (1994)
Country: USA, Canada
Genre: Fantasy, Family, Comedy
IMDb: 6.50
A great fairy tale for family viewing with Tim Allen in the title role. The film has two sequels, the second one is quite good for me, but the third one is rather weak.
Plot: Allen's character (Scott Kelvin) is a simple toy seller. One night he accidentally pushes the real Santa Claus off his roof, and all that remains of him is his red caftan. After persuading his son, he puts it on and they go on reindeer parked on the roof to the North Pole. And there the elder elf informs him that he is now the new Santa Claus. Of course, the next morning he decides that he dreamed it all.
The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
Country: USA
Genre: Fantasy, Family, Comedy
IMDb: 7.00
One of the best Christmas movies that have been released recently. The main role in the film was played by Kurt Russell, the film has a sequel, which was directed by "Home Alone" Chris Calambus.
Plot: Brother and sister decide to film the appearance of the real Santa Claus on video. But something went wrong, and the heroes will have to go on a magical adventure to help Santa save Christmas, and have time to distribute all the gifts to children around the world.
Home Alone (1990)
Country: USA
Genre: Family, Comedy
IMDb: 7.60
Perhaps the best Christmas movie made in the history of cinema. Everyone has watched this film, and I think they review it every year with great pleasure. Great acting, sparkling humor, great music, incredible festive atmosphere.
Plot: On the eve of a family trip to Europe, Kevin manages to quarrel with all his relatives. And he wants them to disappear, and his wish comes true. In a hurry to the airport, they accidentally forget it at home. And Kevin begins to have a great time alone until two stupid robbers try to break into his house. The boy sets traps for them all over the house and in the yard and begins to hold a strong defense.
Surviving Christmas (2004)
Country: USA
Genre: Romance, Comedy
IMDb: 5.40
An excellent film that will give you a New Year's mood, with an excellent cast: Ben Affleck, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara, and Christina Applegate.
Plot: Affleck's hero, rich Drew, has no relatives of his own and usually does not celebrate Christmas. One day, he decides to go to his childhood home to get a little nostalgic, instead of warm childhood memories, Drew gets a shovel on the head from the new tenants. Soon, the man has a crazy idea, he offers this family a large sum of money so that they can portray his real family during the holidays.
The Family Man (2000)
Country: USA
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
IMDb: 6.80
Excellent and perhaps one of the best films with Nicolas Cage. An excellent, original project that will not leave anyone indifferent.
Plot: Cage's hero, the head of a large corporation, Jack, has a luxurious life, but he does not have a family and therefore he does not like to celebrate Christmas, even forces his own employees to work on Christmas Eve. One day his life miraculously changes, and he has the opportunity to see how his life could have turned out if he had not chosen a career. He finds himself in the skin of a family man.
