    While watching a gambling scene in a Hollywood film, have you ever wonder if the celebrity playing the lead role or maybe your favorite celebrity actually plays poker or online poker in real life?

    Check out this list (in no particular order) and see if your favorite celebrities are better poker players than you are.

    1. Matt Damon
    Apart from starring in Rounders, which is known as the best poker movie of all time, the actor actually plays poker in real life. It was said that he has spent $25,000.00 to experience handling himself on the poker table, in preparation for his role in Rounders, which also started his affinity for the game. The actor is considered as one of the best celebrity poker players, as he has done quite well in the 2008 and 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
    The actor was also included in Molly Bloom's book entitled: Molly's Game: High Stakes, Hollywood's Elite, Hotshot Bankers, My Life in the World of Underground Poker along with other Hollywood A-listers.



    2. Ben Affleck
    Apart from being famous for his role as Batman in the latest Justice League franchise, there were reports claiming that the actor was addicted to gambling, which resulted to his break-up with actress Jennifer Garner.

    Though he denied the allegations, the actor is said to be tutored by Annie Duke and Amir Vahedi, who are known professional poker players.


    He is also included in the book of Molly Bloom and has been known to regularly play in high stakes cash games where he has about $500,000 in face-to-face tournament cashers.

    3. Tobey Maguire
    This Spider man actor has been playing poker since 2004 and already has several successful wins in both live and online poker. In fact, he is a regular winner in high-stakes poker games.
    Some poker players said that the actor has an ability to talk someone off of a good hand, thus they refer to him as "Hannibal Lecter".

    Though he dropped playing poker in 2007, he made a return in 2014 and was also included in Molly Bloom's book.

    4. Michael Phelps
    Michael Phelps rose to fame when he won eight medals (including 6 gold) during the 2004 Summer Olympics that was held in Athens, Greece. Though he retired after the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he was known to have the most Olympic medals won by an athlete at 28, which includes 23 gold medals.

    Even in the world of poker, he was reported to be earning $ 100,000 in high-stakes poker.

    5. Shannon Elizabeth
    From being a former model and an actress, Shannon Elizabeth has also been one of the leading celebrity poker players who frequent the Las Vegas tournament circuit. She has placed second and third in the Ante Up for Africa Charity Poker Tournament and the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship.

    6. James Woods
    James Woods is an actor and voice actor who is most known for Videodrome and playing himself on some episodes of Family Guy and The Simpsons.
    He is an avid poker player and winning seventh place at the 2015 WOSP in the $ 3,000 No-Limit Shootout event is among his 35 major events.

    7. Kevin Pollak
    He has appeared in over 80 films, where one of his notable roles is playing Philip Green in Casino. In real life, Pollak is also an avid poker player who hosts weekly home games with his fellow Hollywood A-list celebrities.

    Jason Alexander is an actor, voice actor, comedian and director. He is best known for his roles as George Constanza in the television series, Seinfeld
    He has competed in various tournaments and televised poker shows, appearing twice on Bravo's Celebrity Poker Showdown, where he won the final table of the 8thseason taking $500,000 for his charity. He finished in the top 30% of the 2009 WOSP.

    10. Gabe Kaplan
    He was a comedian and was known for his role as Gabe Kotter in the Welcome Back, Kotter sitcom in the ‘70s.

    He began his career in poker in 1978 when he first appeared at the 1978 WOSP. He has cashed for more than $1.1 million in tournaments, of which $131,000 came at the final table of the 2007 WOSP.
