What do hair extensions look like? Methods of hair extensions
What are hair extensions and hair thickening? Hair extensions and hair thickening are simply artificial strands attached to your hair in such a way that they are indistinguishable from your natural hair. This method allows for hair extensions (up to a maximum of 60cm) and hair thickening, which is a shortcut to achieving the desired hair style. Which method of hair extensions is best? It is hard to answer this question, because there are many methods and each has its pros and cons. We show you the pros and cons of the most popular hair extension methods.
Keratin Hair Extensions
This is known as heat hair extensions using keratin seals. Like keratin straightening treatments, this hair extension method also uses the natural building block of hair, keratin. The artificial strands are attached with a special device that works on them with high temperatures. It may be a heat gun or a heat gun with keratin inserts. The advantage of this method is its durability - the effect lasts about 3 to 4 months. The disadvantages? After that time the keratin hair extensions have to be done again, because the seams, which get smaller as the hair grows, will be noticeable.
The Sandwich method for hair extensions
Called the sandwich method, the hairtalk method is a very quick and easy way to attach hair extensions. The sandwich method consists of attaching hair extensions to thin silicon strips, which are then glued to a section of hair near the roots. The transparent strips are not visible, so the effect is natural. This method is also suitable if your goal is hair thickening. However, it is not recommended to women who prefer sleek hairstyles as the strips may get in the way. Another drawback is that the effect does not last very long - 3-6 weeks.
In Viola Hair Extensions you can find: brown hair extensions, 18 inch hair, 16 inch hair extensions, hair extension brush and hair extension brush.
The Tape Method
This is a modified sandwich method. The difference is that you do not stick the strips to the hair with welds or glue, but sew them to the strands specially braided into a so-called waterfall braid under the hair. This is a moderately permanent method, and has the disadvantage of making it difficult to wash the braided hair.
Ultrasonic hair extension method
If you are concerned about your natural hair not being damaged by hair extensions, consider using ultrasound. This method of hair extension does not use heat like the keratin method, but rather special waves, which attach artificial strands to your natural hair. In this way, the bonding area is invisible and the effect lasts up to six months. The disadvantages are the long-lasting removal of the hair extensions and the relatively high price of ultrasound hair extensions.
Turn down the heat
Try to blow dry your hair as infrequently as possible. In the summer, they're already exposed to a significant amount of heat every day, and they're likely to air dry quickly anyway, so if you can, give yourself a break from blow drying your hair and do it au naturel. Avoid flat irons as well, as they can further damage already dry hair. Besides, a sleek style will only accentuate frizzy hair more.
Make a concoction of water, aloe vera juice and avocado oil. Have it always on hand to spray on your hair when you need a little moisture and/or control. Another good option is argan oil mixed with water.
Nourish your hair
A woman relaxes on a chaise longue by the lake while her hair is wrapped in a towel to apply a deep conditioner.
Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar diluted in water for a quick natural conditioner. Use some coconut oil or shea butter (be careful with this as it can be heavy) to smooth, refresh and moisturize your hair after washing. The oil will add shine to your hair and, if you have wavy hair, create natural, air-dried curls. Try using a natural conditioner once a week to give your hair an extra dose of moisture.
